Mars Accidents & News Yesterday

Well we made it past an interesting Mars transit without too much trouble on a global scale! Hurray for us (for a change).

The Transit

Let me quickly describe the alignment yesterday. Mars was very influential because he was in an exaggerated state (being both retrograde & debilitated) and was affecting a lot of other planets: he conjoined the Moon, directly opposed the Sun & Venus, and influenced the sign housing Jupiter. So all in all, Mars was influencing 4 other planets yesterday (and will continue influencing three of them for a while). But due to being retrograde while debilitated, he was going against his normal traits of debilitation and making an effort to improve it. Also Saturn and the Moon were in helpful and positive places to counterbalance Mars’ negative impact.

Possible Negative Effects Expected

Mars causes accidents, violence, arguments and hatred – when he is being negative. When positive he gives enthusiasm, zeal, passion, and incisiveness.

Global Effects

As I opened by saying, we made it past the transit without much trouble. Some news that is reflective of this transit, however is the US sending anti-missile weapons to Iran and, closer to home, An oddball California sniper who became active in connection with the beginning of Mars’ retrogression.

Personal Effects

I would love to hear from you if you have Aries or Scorpio ascendants or moons. Did you have anything unusual occur this weekend? Please comment to let me know. Personally – persons I know without Mars ruled rising or moon signs had some very mild effects (got a rare haircut – Mars cuts things, and he was influencing Venus, both of whom influence my 1st and 2nd houses), my Sun kept having mild falls and accidents the whole weekend (he is ruled by Venus, whom Mars was influencing). But my brother in law, who is Scorpio rising with the Moon and Mars in Venus’ Taurus, got hit by a car while riding home on his bike. It was a mild accident as far as those things go, but still quite a shake up with a lot of soreness and bruises, and a messed up bike.

You are the Architect of Your Own Destiny!

I think it’s very important to clarify that astrology does not create your destiny, and planets do not have any independant ability to influence you in any way. Only you create your own destiny and only you can truly influence yourself.

What is astrology then? It is a gift from nature and Godhead. The planets and stars reveal your destiny. They tell your fate, for sure,  but they cannot create your fate.

You have existed for countless ages. You are as old as the oldest star, and older still. Through all that existence you have been making choices in this universe, and she, your mother – mother nature – has been observing those choices and responding to you appropriately.

What is “appropriate”?

Enlightenment is appropriate.

The universe records your decisions and therefore holds the reactions to those decisions which are most appropriate to generate your gradual and eventual enlightenment. This is what we call “karma.”

The planets we see in the sky are the Universe’s way of communicating more directly to us. Telling us with their symbology what destiny will unfold in this lifetime, so that we may utilize that destiny more effectively for our own happiness and enlightenment.

Is it true that moon in Pisces babies cry alot?

Crying is a child’s form of communication, therefore it pertains more to Mercury than to the Moon. And the Ascendant Sign will set the context for everything. Also, the conditions in the 2nd house will describe speech. Also the house occupied by the 1st Lord will tell about the childhood experience.

So what I am saying is that in real astrology you can’t just take one factor alone. You have to consider a bunch of things simultaneously.

For example, my Son has a full Moon in Pisces and is a cancer but almost didn’t cry one single time (till he learned to talk, hahaha) His Mercury is in Virgo. His ascendant is Cancer. Note that both Cancer and Pisces are water signs, symbolized by mute aquatic creatures. Water signs don’t talk very much, they feel and think, but don’t express much.

His first house lord is in the 9th House. Therefore his childhood was quite blessed and he was happy, thus felt little need to cry.

Now, his second house is pretty charged up – it has Rahu (north node) and Mars. And his Virgo Mercury is combust by the Sun. What’s going on LATER on in his life (i.e. after toddlerhood) is a classic Cancer Rising trait where they really want to communicate but get confused by emotions and frustrated so easily that it is somewhat challenging and difficult for them to talk.

With this Virgo Mercury, though, and him currently being in a Mercury cycle, he is now successfully learning his second language (Japanese)! He’s 11 years old now.

I love him!

In a war between the zodiac elements, which element would win?

The whole beauty of the zodiac / astrology and the universe itself is that it / she is perfectly BALANCED. No element would win or defeat the other! They are eternally balanced.

Every element has a strength and a weakness. Air for example is very strong in creating perceptive people who have new ideas. But it is weak in that it can also make us very flighty, unsteady, and overly sensuous.

Fire is strong in creating ambition and moral drive, but weak in understanding others and cooperating. Water is strong in being deep, flexible, and reflective – but weak in being sharp, decisive and ambitious. Earth is strong in creating stability and supportiveness, but is weak in bending and flexing and understanding new things.

So no one would win – unless they stop fighting and learn to compliment one another. In which case they ALL win!
